IL MUSEO CIVICO ARCHEOLOGICO DI
VEROLIIstituito nel 2018, è ospitato nel
Palazzo Comunale, secondo un progetto che recupera
e integra nel percorso di visita
due importanti strutture
di età romana: la sostruzione in opera poligonale, sulla
quale si sviluppava l'antico foro cittadino, e il suggestivo ambiente
ipogeo a quattro vani comunicanti. In qualità di istituto culturale, scientifico, educativo permanente e aperto al pubblico, il Museo
costituisce un polo di conoscenza e salvaguardia della realtà territoriale, ponendosi come elemento di coesione sociale e di educazione al
servizio del cittadino e centro propulsore per la conservazione e
valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale della
città.
Il Museo civico archeologico di Veroli "I luoghi del tempo" è articolato in otto sale espositive, di cui l'ultima è rappresentata dall'ambiente ipogeo di età romana. Il percorso di visita è suddiviso nelle tre sezioni tematiche "Tempo della vita" (sale 1-2-3-4),"Tempo della morte" (sala 5) e "Tempo del sacro" (sale 6-7-8) e racconta lo stretto rapporto della città con il territorio circostante, testimoniato dai selezionati reperti archeologici provenienti da contesti di scavo urbani e extraurbani. L'esperienza di visita trasporta il visitatore in un viaggio che va dalla protostoria all'età romana: un museo da guardare ma anche da toccare e vivere.

THE CIVIC ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF VEROLI
Established in 2018, it is housed in the Town Hall, following a project that recovers and integrates into the visit route two important Roman-era structures: the polygonal masonry substructure, on which the ancient city forum was built, and the evocative underground environment with four interconnected rooms. As a cultural, scientific, and educational institution that is permanently open to the public, the Museum serves as a center of knowledge and preservation of the local area, acting as a social cohesion element, providing education to citizens, and promoting the conservation and enhancement of the city’s cultural heritage.

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Veroli, “The Places of Time”, is organized into eight exhibition rooms, the last of which is represented by the Roman-era underground environment. The visit route is divided into three thematic sections: “Time of Life” (rooms 1-2-3-4), “Time of Death” (room 5), and “Time of the Sacred” (rooms 6-7-8), and it illustrates the city’s close relationship with its surrounding territory, as testified by the carefully selected archaeological finds from urban and extra-urban excavation contexts. The visitor experience takes one on a journey from prehistory to the Roman era: a museum to look at, but also to touch and experience.
