Prima dell’ultimo conflitto mondiale, la chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, sita nella parte alta di Piedimonte, era considerata un vero e proprio gioiello per il paese. Venne ricostruita nel 1960 e ultimata nel 1966 su progetto degli architetti Giuseppe Perugini e Alberto Tonelli. La sua struttura architettonica è di stampo moderno, dell’antica chiesa ne rimane solo un breve tratto del basamento in pietra squadrata a vista.

Before the last world conflict, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, located in the upper part of Piedimonte, was considered a true jewel of the town. It was rebuilt in 1960 and completed in 1966, based on a design by architects Giuseppe Perugini and Alberto Tonelli. Its architectural structure is modern in style; of the ancient church, only a short section of the base in exposed squared stone remains.
