La bellissima chiesa di San Nicola, con un ampio piazzale antistante la facciata d’ingresso, oggi è collocata in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, nella parte alta di Piedimonte.  Era annessa da principio al monastero di San Nicola della Cicogna in Villa Santa Lucia. Testimonianza ne sono i resti utilizzati per la ricostruzione dopo la disastrosa distruzione subita durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. L’interno, in stile barocco, presenta un’unica navata e sull’altare principale è collocata la statua del Cuore Immacolato di Maria alla quale è dedicata la chiesa.

The beautiful Church of San Nicola, featuring a spacious square in front of its main façade, is now located in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in the upper part of Piedimonte. Originally, it was annexed to the Monastery of San Nicola della Cicogna in Villa Santa Lucia, as evidenced by the remains reused during its reconstruction after the devastating destruction it suffered during the Second World War. The Baroque-style interior has a single nave, and the main altar houses the statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to whom the church is dedicated.
