La principale chiesa di Pignataro Interamna è dedicata al SS Salvatore. La sua attività risale addirittura al 1784, ma è solo nel 1830 che l’allora abate di Montecassino pose qui la prima pietra: seguirono giorni di scavo delle nuove fondamenta delle navate laterali e dei pilastri della navata centrale. I lavori però non furono portati a termine per mancanza di fondi. È solo grazie al Re Ferdinando II e ad una cospicua somma di denaro da lui concessa, che la chiesa fu definitivamente riportata a nuova funzionalità negli anni successivi. Oggi è possibile ammirarvi affreschi di particolare bellezza.

The main church of Pignataro Interamna is dedicated to the Most Holy Savior. Its activity dates back as far as 1784, but it was only in 1830 that the then Abbot of Montecassino laid the first stone here; this was followed by days of excavation for the new foundations of the side aisles and the pillars of the central nave. However, the works were not completed due to a lack of funds. It was only thanks to King Ferdinand II, and to a substantial sum of money granted by him, that the church was finally restored to full functionality in the following years. Today, visitors can admire frescoes of remarkable beauty.
